A little "slightly off the road fall" in Luzerne County. I passed by it twice before I re-read the book to park across from a certain colored house. Once I pulled into the pulloff though, there was no mistaking this beauty. The book has it listed as 34 feet, I'm guessing closer to 50-60.

This makes 87 different waterfalls in NEPa that I have pics of... so many more to go....

87 different falls, I am so jealous, now I'm going to have to go meandering in the Rockies next year, (they are all closed now) very beautiful pic,. The heigth listed is probably taken from the first jump and down, I have never quite figured out where they take the "official" measurement from, some use the whole falls, others use the biggest leap only. I think they do that to confuse us.

very pretty, i like this one, and the snow, i didn't(pouts) get any snow
ugh.. the Rockies... I'm actually nervous about the rockies trip I want to take in 07.. so afraid that after seeing a 1000+ foot waterfall, I won't want to see the little 40 footers locally.

Yea, some people use fishing line and a marking ont he line to judge height, some use surveying equpiment, some use the size of the tree next to them. I'm gonna start listing my heights by the number of injuries one could sustain by falling off of them.

"And this next waterfall is listed as a broken shin, 11 fractured ribs, a crushed vertabrae, a ruptured testicle and a really massive headache."

Nah, I'll stick to feet if I even ever list it.

What pisses me off, is yesterday I sat in after I got out of work and when I watched the news at 5, the area that XStatic falls is in got 6 f**king inches... we had NOTHING here.

I need to call a friend of mine up in that county and see how the weather is for her. We could get flurries, she gets inches...

yeah we are kinda weird here too, i know i am south of you, but i am on a hill and when they say 2 inches of snow we get like 6. Its really strange, and i drive to work adn there is less and less as i get there.
I think I just need to start watching different weather... it I could get in the southern tiers' weather, I'd be fine.. kinda.. Tina lives between me and Binghamton and she can't go by either forecast...

i don't go by the local news stations weather its always wrong, the weather channel site for me has been the best. But its just a strange spot here. Like by my parents they get fringes of lake effect so there won't be any in the forecast but they still get it.
